Come
tour my studio!
We
moved to Kentucky March of 2006. I have a new studio in the walk-out
basement.
I am still organizing it, but this is what it looks like now!

down & to the right to see the pictures.

This
is the back entry to the studio. If I ever decide to teach classes
in the studio
this will be the student entrance.
|
|
Inside
the back door turn left & you will
will find yourself in the painting & design
portion of the studio.
On the easel you see one of my paintings.
This area has a drawing table, easel & storage cabinet for
paints, dyes & chemicals.
|
|
This narrow area is a hallway to get to the sewing portion of
the studio. You can see the sewing studio at the back.
On
the right side I have storage for rotary rulers, boards, &
cutters. There is also a rack for magazines & books.
My
wonderful husband installed a peg board which stores tools for
cutting mat boards for prints & photos, tape of all kinds,
& my oil paints.

This
is the sewing portion of the studio. It also doubles as a writing
area. You see my two
machines, fabric storage, & lots of books. My design wall is
to the right of the quilting
machine with the writing space in front of it. When I am not writing,
the table is stored away & I
have a floor to ceiling design wall. I'm using an old microwave
cart/cupboard to store threads &
ironing supplies.
In
this large space I have room to set up a table for cutting fabric,
pin basting quilts or painting fabric. I also have storage for
canvases, paper & quilts.
|
The
other entrance to my studio is through the house and down the
stairs to the basement.
|
Almost
there, now around the corner to the studio!
|
|
Here
is the view from my studio window!
The
robins nested under the deck right above my window last spring.
I
can see down the hill past the bird feeder to the woods. Last
week I saw two fawns in the back yard. Last winter a coyote went
through the backyard in the snow. We have a resident box turtle
that hybernates up against the house next to the back door.
I
am thoroughly enjoying my new studio space and my new animal visitors.
I
hope you enjoyed your visit to my studio!
The
next studio page will highlight the book coming out in July 2008!
